The character is shown as hanging out with friends ironically in real life, journalists are hardly able to booze with friends or hang out with friends. In reality, they work in fields all-day inclusive of weekends. 'Pataalok' is a series where a male senior journalist is showcased in a vulgar sense. He makes extramarital affairs with his female colleague while his wife is skeptical of it.'The Broken News is a series where a female protagonist is seen seducing his male friend working in a competitor company from her. Every day after work she joins clubs while spending her quality time.'No one killed Jessica' is a movie where Rani Mukherjee acts as a journalist. She uses absurd language while replying to one of the travelers on the same plane when he gets excited asking her about her reporting on Indian borders. She has also seen smoking, drinking, and being bold like nothing.

In reality, journalists are connected with Indian culture be it their outfit or their speaking skills. Ravish Kumar dated his wife for seven years making a great romantic love story. Palki Sharma Upadhyay married an NDTV journalist Sanket Upadhyay after a long-term love relationship.
Less salary, More work.
In India, the average salary of the reporter is 20,000 approximately. Nobody would work their best for a stagnated salary to the extent I know. This a great challenge to work slogging their asses up for such a small amount which is almost negligible in today's inflated scenario.
Need to change
The movies need to show reality. Instead of their topsy-turvy fiction, they need to get on the ground to look at how journalists work.
